Are You Ready to Ring in the Lunar New Year at Disneyland?

Dec 21, 2016

The Lunar New Year Celebration is among the top reasons to experience the incoming New Year at Disneyland. The Lunar New Year represents the moment when both the sun and the moon begin their cycle for another year, and is traditionally celebrated within Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures. The festivities at Disneyland will begin on Friday, January 20th and continue through Sunday, February 5th. Here are three reasons to celebrate the Lunar New Year!

1) CULTURAL ASIAN FOOD – Come indulge your appetite with delicious food while at Disneyland celebrating the Lunar New Year. There are three new Asian marketplaces offering foods inspired by Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese cultures. The food will be served throughout the festival area in select locations convenient for everyone.

2) PARADISE GARDEN ENTERTAINMENT – The festival will take place in and around the Paradise Garden area, with a variety of incredible live entertainment taking place on a daily basis. If you’ve never seen a troupe of Chinese acrobats flying through the air, now is your chance! In addition to Chinese acrobats, you will be exposed to a variety of authentic live musicians and various performers.

3) DRESSED UP DISNEY CHARACTERS – Throughout the park during the festivities, many of the most famous Disney characters will be wandering around wearing Lunar New Year themed outfits. From Mickey and Minnie Mouse, to Mulan and Mushu, the opportunity to see popular Disney characters in new exciting attire is a must!
